Numbers. They’re everywhere. They’re relative…or not. Well, this is my blog so they’re definitely relative.
In 2 weeks. Millennial Revolution’s new book “Quit like a Millionaire” comes out. Yes, I count down to when books and other media are released. I’m such a nerd.
Starting a new workout plan today which will go for 5 weeks. I have to shed my endgame Thor bod that I picked up over traveling the last couple weeks. Also from all the good food at Chautauqua which I’ll cover in a later post.
6 weeks. The program outlined in Ramit Sethi’s book “I will teach you to be rich”. I’m about halfway through the book now and enjoying it.
8 weeks. When I’m “supposed” to take a work related test, however, I’m kind of nervous since I haven’t been fully focused on studying.
9 weeks. A half marathon. I committed to running a half marathon in Kauai with my sisters earlier this year.
A weird and fun perspective for me to track my spending is monthly transaction counts. You would think that the number of transactions are directly proportional to the amount spent each month, but that’s not necessarily the case.
139, 139, 139, 152, 157, 118. My number of transactions for the year so far.
There’s little tricks to even game our own systems so you really do have to be honest with yourself. For instance, when I travel abroad I take out a chunk of cash in foreign currency and that’s one transaction – but multiple cash transactions when traveling.
Looking at too many numbers can be complicated, but I want to keep things simple or I’ll look like I’m koo koo for cocoa puffs. So I’ll just stop now.
I will try my best to post at least a couple times a month. It’ll be about finance or it will be about something else. There are a billion personal finance blogs already out there. So at the very least there will be numbers but they may not be finance related.
